The Italian wine Aglianico PGI from Campania, processed in the Maurizio Grimaldi wineries, is produced from a dark, bluish-coloured grape.
The artisanal winemaking process gives it an excellent structure, a purple colour and a fruity, strong and elegant taste.
Following a manual harvest, which normally takes place during the month of October, the grapes are destemmed and softly pressed, to proceed with maceration on the skins.
The latter is crucial for a strong and spicy character and a perfect tannic balance.
After a fermentation process in steel barrels, the Aglianico wine completes its maturation in barriques for a period of 10 months.
The genuineness of a family tradition that is renewed over time gives this red wine a unique flavour, characterized by a spicy aroma with notes of underbrush (mainly due to the wine being kept in barriques).
Preferably served at 18°C, the strong and harmonious flavour of this Aglianico PGI from Campania pairs perfectly with red meat dishes, game, mature and strong cheeses (such as pecorino), cold cuts, legume soups and cereals.
